MICHAEL FREUND: Ezekiel is commanded by God to take two sticks. On one, he is to write "For Judah," and on the other "For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim." Then comes the crucial instruction: "Bring them together into one stick so that they become one in your hand" (37:17). Ezekiel's vision is not one of uniformity. The two sticks do not cease to be what they are. Judah remains Judah; Joseph remains Joseph. Unity does not erase difference – it sanctifies and elevates it by placing it within a larger shared destiny.

Ketriel Blad: In other words, in order for a total restoration to take place, the restored Ephraimites from among the nations will have to become Jewish, in the legal sense of the word, thus accepting the Jewish authorities and becoming obedient to Jewish halachah. In the prophecy of Ezekiel 37:19 the Hebrew text can be understood as HaShem giving Yehuda's stick the function of being over Ephraim's stick and this way both sticks will become one. This teaches us that the Ephraimite movement that comes from heaven cannot rise apart from the Jewish people without submission to the Jewish leaders' authority. This is not for all the gentiles.

Mendel Kaplan: When Moshiach will come, we will find a Lot of Lost Jews.
Mendel Kaplan: There are groups of People living in the World who seem to have Jewish ancestry. It’s true; it’s true. The largest group of such People lives in a little known country called Afghanistan and they are known as the Pathans. The Pathans are very strange People because they do not fit into any box. They don’t fit into any typical Society. First of all, they’re self-reliant. They’re fierce warriors, but they do a Lot of things differently. For example, the Pathans circumcize their sons at 8 days old. Nobody does that but the Jews. The Pathans have cities of refuge or what we call orei miklat which the Torah talks about. The Pathans observe that till this very day. The Pathans wear some very strange garments ~ four-cornered garments with lines on them ~ which means they comes from the 2nd Temple period; many of them have fringes. They look a Lot like our Tallitot. And there are other weird things. The Pathans light candles on Friday Night. The Afghani Royal family claims Jewish ancestry. I think, the Pathans probably have some Jewish ancestry. I think, the Pathans do descend from Jews at some point.

From SHOAL by Rosebud Ben-Oni

You are in a windy Lower East Side square.
Henry Street, arid and slow.
An elderly street without monuments.
Arched in inner city catheters
bending the sun. A contradiction but warm.
Crackling in exhaust fumes.
Cracking like Rivera’s murals at the New School
where you write of the idolatry of the Wailing Wall
opaque and palpable.
You cross Brooklyn bridge.
A river a summons a cemetery
a howl cut short,
barbwire overcast.
Pages scattering from a mausoleum,
you fall out of its doorway, taken
as sacrament. Useless vandal.
Evicted tenant.
*You call yourself an Annex Jew—
from the Frick’s untouchable pools
sinking down
an upright bass on the Bowery
you and the pianist climb the terrace of Beatrice Inn
you are lost among long tables of refugees
and folk hymns muffled on Allen Street
Sabbath morning, coarse and whimsical
leaks its veil in Chinatown’s oils
sober and lit without sleep
alone on a pier
the edge of Battery sharpens
pampas along the surf howl and stretch
here strikes your last prayer
a bruised howl in the wall
and oh, to sleep
to sleep through
the brute of dawn

My Sweetest Children.
Listen carefully. Things are not what they appear to be at all in the world. Everything is chafuch (upside down). In shamayim (heaven) things are looking wonderful. The more it seems crazier down below that much closer we are to finally bringing the Geula (Final Redemption).
The world needs to switch to this consciousness – and to see with Moshiach (Messianic) eyes what is happening. Be fearless as Hashem (G-d) in running everything. Those killed recently in the horrible attacks were tzaddikim who volunteered for this work – to wake up Klal Yisrael (Nation of Israel) and those injured are causing a great sweet stir in Shamayim from all the tefillot (Prayer) and tehillim (psalms) being sent. And the achdut (unity) being created had been so sweet.
We all need to learn to act this way – to cry out to Hashem in love, to love each other with sweet achdut. to honestly care about one another. We are so close to breaking through. Much has been done in Shamayim and by Tzaddikim (righteous saintly persons) to lessen the pain and to stop what was supposed to happen but when people are still sleeping, there needs to be wake up calls. I would rather the wakeup call be a sweet mother’s kiss but sometimes people just don’t wake up.
Help the world wake up. Tell them they are missing the point. Many of our religious leaders are not doing their jobs properly and are more concerned with their own well being and situation than that of their followers or klal yisrael. New leaders will start to emerge now – right now – and the old guard will start to step aside. Leaders need to emerge – especially in the religious community – who are on Hashem’s “side” not their own sides for political or economic gain. Time is short. They must move aside peacefully or they will be removed from Shamayim.
The new guard of Tzaddikim is about to emerge and they won’t look like the leaders you expect. They won’t have the family dynasty names you are accustomed to from the generations. Most you have never heard of previously. Most are Baalei Teshuva who did not grow up religious, and some like Onkelos or Rabbi Akiva and Rabbi Meir were either Gerei Tzedek (righteous converts) or came from them. And many of the leaders today will be women. Just like the first Geula from Mitzayim (Egypt) this final Geula will also be in the merit of the righteous women. But today – they will be playing a much bigger role in the leadership especially as the Geula is a about switching to more of the Divine Feminine energy. The Scheina (Divine Presence) is starting to shine much more greatly on all levels and with that is the emergence of the holy feminine energy transforming the more aggressive male energy – in both men and women.
But men – don’t fear this new “order”. Embrace it cherish it as it will open up in each one of you an even higher G-dly spark than you knew you ever had. And as leadership goes, we all want those who are truly connected to Hashem. And Moshiach will be one who not only brings emunah (faith) and achdut to the world but who has perfected the balance of his male and female energies. He will also be someone most so far have never heard of, but will contain the energy of one everybody has heard of.
So on my Yahrzeit/ Hilula (Anniversary of Passing to the higher worlds) – please my children – Love each other – no matter what the other person looks like or how he or she is dressed. Care for each other and embrace one another – Don’t judge one another as who among us can really approach his maker guilt free. Don’t judge – Embrace. Share your Torah and Your Shabbats (Sabbaths) with those who might know or observe less. Do you really truly know in Shamayim who is higher? Perhaps that person ignorant of Torah and mitzvahs (good deeds) is a tzaddik who volunteered to come into the world to teach you a lesson. Be Kind – Do you really know what someone else is going through? Bless everyone you see, whether they can hear you or not. Hashem hears you.
And Love Hashem – He wants our love more than we can every comprehend. He doesn’t need us for anything and unlike angels, we have bechira (free choice), so are much more difficult. He created us to love us – and He rightfully wants to be loved in return. Remember we are created in Hashem’s image – so just as we want love, so does Hashem.
So let’s not just ask Hashem for things we need and we want. Ask what can you do for Hashem. Ask what can you do for Klal Yisrael and for the world, as the Geula is for the whole world – with Klal Yisrael as Hashem’s Shaliach (messenger / channel). And let’s ask how we can love Hashem even more.
With love from your mother,
Rachel

Iranian Railroad for Queer Refugees - IRQR: I just informed that last night a group of people were arrested in Kerman, Iran by Revolutionary Guards. I am not sure all of them were LGBT or not and I am looking forward for updated news. Please let me know if you have any information.

Naghmeh Abedini: Urgent Update on Saeed:
It is truly heartbreaking to know that one day after I spoke in front of our congress Saeed was beaten by fellow prisoners. Saeed’s father was not able to see Saeed last week because of a holiday in Iran, but today he was truly shaken to learn of the beating that Saeed had endured. Saeed’s father was also treated horribly and harassed by the prison guards and staff and could only visit Saeed for a short time…
As I shared in front of our congress last week, the Iranian government might turn up the heat in the furnace (as in Daniel 3), but Saeed refuses to deny his faith in Jesus Christ and continues to be a witness in that dark prison. Jesus is with Saeed in that fiery furnace. Saeed wants you to know that he has felt your prayers in his darkest moments. Thank you.
Please continue to keep our family in your prayers during this very difficult time.
God Bless.

Yechiel Spero: The Al-mighty wants to get our attention. He is demanding it. He has our ear.
Mere sadness will not do the trick. Some sort of improvement is in order. In thought and in deed. But let’s not just read the books. How about sharing the inspiration with our families? Through knowledge, song, and meaningful discussion. Let’s love our children a little bit more. Tell them how proud we are of who they are. Our children are not perfect. But they are our children. And we must love them. If the lines of communication are down, then let’s try to repair them. Perhaps our children are in pain for some reason or another. Maybe they feel like no one is listening and no one understands them. But their stifled shrieking and bone-chilling cries for help must be heard before it is too late.
We must love them.
Unconditionally.
We need to heal.
Fire warms and feeds, and at times consumes and destroys. Although a father may feel the need to punish, his love never wanes.
And then he broke down and cried.
The One Who gives also takes.
Dust cannot be destroyed, but ashes can. Ashes symbolize the past, while the dust symbolizes the future.
In His infinite wisdom, the Al-mighty determined that He will rebuild in the same manner He has destroyed.
Until then, we cry.
