MICHAEL FREUND: Ezekiel is commanded by God to take two sticks. On one, he is to write "For Judah," and on the other "For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim." Then comes the crucial instruction: "Bring them together into one stick so that they become one in your hand" (37:17). Ezekiel's vision is not one of uniformity. The two sticks do not cease to be what they are. Judah remains Judah; Joseph remains Joseph. Unity does not erase difference – it sanctifies and elevates it by placing it within a larger shared destiny.
Ketriel Blad: In other words, in order for a total restoration to take place, the restored Ephraimites from among the nations will have to become Jewish, in the legal sense of the word, thus accepting the Jewish authorities and becoming obedient to Jewish halachah. In the prophecy of Ezekiel 37:19 the Hebrew text can be understood as HaShem giving Yehuda's stick the function of being over Ephraim's stick and this way both sticks will become one. This teaches us that the Ephraimite movement that comes from heaven cannot rise apart from the Jewish people without submission to the Jewish leaders' authority. This is not for all the gentiles.
Joseph and Aseneth 1:8-9: And she was as tall as Sarah, and as beautiful as Rebecca, and as fair as Rachel; and this virgin’s name was Aseneth. And the fame of her beauty spread through all that land, even to its remotest corners;

Jewish Virtual Library: The term "Bukharan Jews" refers to the Central Asian Jews of Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan. Also, a large number of Bukharan Jews have made aliyah and have congregated in Jerusalem.
Megilla 26a, Yoma 12a: What was in the portion of Yehuda? The Temple Mount, the chambers and the courtyards. And what was in the portion of Benyamin? The Ulam (antechamber), the Holy and the Holy of Holies. And a strip comes out of the portion of Yehuda and enters the portion of Benyamin, and the altar was built on that.
Kyrgyz means “imperishable”, “inextinguishable”, “immortal”, “unconquerable”, or “unbeatable”
The early Kyrgyz people, known as Yenisei Kyrgyz, have their origins in the western parts of modern-day Mongolia
They were described in Tang Dynasty texts as having “red hair and green eyes” with a mixture of European and Mongol features.
They are considered to be a people that were created by a combination of Mongol, Khitan, and Uyghur tribes. They generally have an East Asian appearance like their neighbours the Kazakhs, and in contrast to the mostly Caucasoid Tajiks and the mixed-looking Uzbeks.
The Kyrgyz form one of the 56 ethnic groups officially recognized by the People’s Republic of China. There are more than 145,000 Kyrgyz in China.
Russia 104,570
Kazakhstan 23,274
Uzbekistan 250,000
Kyrgyzstan 3,804,800
Tajikistan 60,000
Afghanistan 1,130
Turkey 5,000
China 145,000
They are found mainly in the Kizilsu Kirghiz Autonomous Prefecture in the southwestern part of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region
Many ancient indigenous beliefs and practices, including shamanism and totemism, coexisted synthetically with Islam. Likewise, the Sufi order of Islam has been one of the most active Muslim groups in Kyrgyzstan for over a century. Certain segments of the Kyrgyz in China are followers of Tibetan Buddhism.
Russians believe that the Kirghiz would be a liability in any conflict against China. The Kirghiz believe that in an upcoming war China would defeat Russia.
Rachael Turkienicz: First and Second Maccabees were included in the Septuagint, the Greek translation of the Hebrew Bible originally prepared for the Jewish community of Alexandria. However, the Septuagint became the official version of the Bible for the nascent Christian Church. When this happened, its authoritative nature was rejected by the Jewish community for many centuries.
Today there is a renewed interest in these books within the Jewish community.
1 Maccabim 1:1-4: And it happened, after that Alexander son of Philip, the Macedonian, who came out of the land of Chettiim, had smitten Darius king of the Persians and Medes, that he reigned in his stead, the first over Greece, And made many wars, and won many strong holds, and slew the kings of the earth, And went through to the ends of the earth, and took spoils of many nations, insomuch that the earth was quiet before him; whereupon he was exalted and his heart was lifted up. And he gathered a mighty strong host and ruled over countries, and nations, and kings, who became tributaries unto him.

Abu Ammaar Yasir Qadhi: The life and property of an Atheist Idolater is worthless and holds no value, while outside the State of Jihad. The life and property becomes Kosher, while in a State of Jihad.
משל דומה לזה הוא של אדם היוצא למסע בחו"ל הוא משאיר עבודה לשכיריו לתקופת העדרו ומצווה על השוער לעמוד על המשמר לקראת שובו בכל רגע
Does the absence of a Jewish presence negate the right to property? Short answer: No.
But if absentia were the case, Israel wouldn’t Occupy the Temple Mount. Vacation homes would be obsolete. The neglect of Greater Israel from Aza-Sinai to Transjordania is becoming untenable. The longer His heritage is ignored, the faster Judgment Day comes for all the Nations. Expect action around the Golan Heights, if Incompetence pervades.
I think, the game of Monopoly is Lost on most. You acquire houses. Not abdicate them. The ability to administrate the entire planet without actually being there is a Messianic concept. Jews should think more highly of themselves.
Batya Medad: The other night at work I noticed an Arab family, parents and daughter taking lots of pictures when entering Rami Levy. By the time I got my camera ready, they were finishing, so I only got one blurred shot.
Later on they came into the shoe store where I was working and got so friendly, even took more photos. I'm probably in some of them. They seemed so happy to be there in Yafiz and Rami Levy, Sha'ar Binyamin. I honestly couldn't figure out why. They aren't the first Arabs I've seen taking selfies and photos of their family/group/friends in the stores and shopping center. But I've never seen such enthusiasm.
Any guesses?
Anonymous: I reside in a town called Ramapo formerly known as Ramapoc. A neighbor named Rachel recently married. Her smile is even more severe. She hasn't changed her profile photo on Facebook featuring her mom and their Police Officer Friends. And her husband is bald, but harmless, I suppose.
I don't know. I've bin thinking about selfies and how intrusive Paparazzi are with high profile Celebrities. The contrast isn't that wide a Gulf, but I lean toward selfies being more appropriate, although excessive selfies can border on Intoxication. So much focus on the ego can be Dangerous to the self, so to speak.
I've bin experimenting on zero visibility and archiving what everybody else seems to be focused on. If I do take a selfie, it's of me on the screen of a discarded television monitor. I've photographed about two dozen in the last few years. They haven't been picked up and remain sitting on the yards of neighbors, even through winter seasons. I won't complain about the lack of sanitation workers though, unlike nearby Lebanon, I heard.
That woman doesn't appear observant. The Police down south are very color-sensitive and have very sharp eye-coordination. If anything, they're harmless wolves that require stricter discipline.
I'm old school: i loathed self-promotion
American Youth are Obsessed with Selfies in Bathrooms, btw
also, I expect an increase in orderly Parsim Aliyah, emphasis on the mundane bureaucratic aspects
Persian Olim should be considered Bene Benyamin
family entrepreneurs helped a co-worker named Esther B make Aliyah to Israel, btw
She's married to an Israeli, now, and Mothering
Spies aren't as blatant; arrogant, perhaps, but not intelligent to be photographing so openly. It's what tourists do. It's what gets journalists into trouble in Syria:
I would expect so much enthusiasm from new townies, the further away from the City one travels
i expect this blog to gain further, now that Iran has somehow gotten to be on the Dreidel Nations' Better side
Pistis Sophia: Hearken Philip, blessed one, that I may discourse with thee; for it is thou and Thomas and Matthew on whom it is enjoined by the First Mystery to write all the discourses which I shall speak and [all which I shall] do, and all things which ye shall see. But as for thee, the number of the discourses which thou hast to write, is so far not yet completed. When it is then completed, thou art to come forward and proclaim what pleaseth thee. Now, therefore, ye three have to write down all the discourses which I shall speak and [all things which I shall] do and which ye shall see, in order that ye may bear witness to all things of the kingdom of heaven.
Acts of Thomas: "Fear not, Thomas. Go away to India and proclaim the Word, for my grace shall be with you." But the Apostle still demurred, so the Lord overruled the stubborn disciple by ordering circumstances so compelling that he was forced to accompany an "Indian" merchant, Abbanes, as a slave to his native place in northwest "India," where he found himself in the service of the Indo-Parthian king, Gondophares. According to the Acts of Thomas, the apostle’s ministry resulted in many conversions throughout the kingdom, including the king and his brother.
Hymns of St. Ephrem, edited by Lamy (Ephr. Hymni et Sermones, IV): It was to a land of dark people he was sent, to clothe them by Baptism in white robes. His grateful dawn dispelled India’s painful darkness. It was his mission to espouse India to the One-Begotten. The merchant is blessed for having so great a treasure. Edessa thus became the blessed city by possessing the greatest pearl India could yield. Thomas works miracles in India, and at Edessa Thomas is destined to baptize peoples perverse and steeped in darkness, and that in the land of India.

Stephen Epstein: Some went down the Mekong River into Vietnam, the Philippines, Siam, Thailand and Malaysia, while some of the Israelites moved to Burma and west to India.
