Because the tribe of Levi was not counted in the census of armed men for Israel’s army, Joseph was given two half-tribes. Two of Israel’s tribes were fathered by men who had African blood in their veins. All of the Jews from both of these tribes had an African forefather and they’re not the only ones. A large mixed multitude of Africans came out of Egypt with the Israelites [Ex 12:38].
