MICHAEL FREUND: Ezekiel is commanded by God to take two sticks. On one, he is to write "For Judah," and on the other "For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim." Then comes the crucial instruction: "Bring them together into one stick so that they become one in your hand" (37:17). Ezekiel's vision is not one of uniformity. The two sticks do not cease to be what they are. Judah remains Judah; Joseph remains Joseph. Unity does not erase difference – it sanctifies and elevates it by placing it within a larger shared destiny.

Ketriel Blad: In other words, in order for a total restoration to take place, the restored Ephraimites from among the nations will have to become Jewish, in the legal sense of the word, thus accepting the Jewish authorities and becoming obedient to Jewish halachah. In the prophecy of Ezekiel 37:19 the Hebrew text can be understood as HaShem giving Yehuda's stick the function of being over Ephraim's stick and this way both sticks will become one. This teaches us that the Ephraimite movement that comes from heaven cannot rise apart from the Jewish people without submission to the Jewish leaders' authority. This is not for all the gentiles.

My decision not to attend the Genesis Prize ceremony has been mischaracterized by others. Let me speak for myself. I chose not to attend because I did not want to appear as endorsing Benjamin Netanyahu, who was to be giving a speech at the ceremony. By the same token, I am not part of the BDS movement and do not endorse it. Like many Israelis and Jews around the world, I can be critical of the leadership in Israel without wanting to boycott the entire nation. I treasure my Israeli friends and family, Israeli food, books, art, cinema, and dance. Israel was created exactly 70 years ago as a haven for refugees from the Holocaust. But the mistreatment of those suffering from today’s atrocities is simply not in line with my Jewish values. Because I care about Israel, I must stand up against violence, corruption, inequality, and abuse of power. Please do not take any words that do not come directly from me as my own. This experience has inspired me to support a number of charities in Israel. I will be announcing them soon, and I hope others will join me in supporting the great work they are doing.

Honestly, I'm not that impressed by Bene Ephraim nor the Levitical Bene Israel, compared to their older brethren from the northeast, namely Bnei Menashe, who have proven to be more dynamic recently. Efforts by @shaveiisrael to bear fruit among Indian Noahides haven't fulfilled expectations either. My hunch is that Indians harbor a corrosive tendency to Doubt, which is why I don't expect them to ascend highest. Besides, South Asians are merely subject to Benjamite royalty. Hoshea hanavi summarizes Ephraimite Mediocrity succinctly, so don't entertain presumption by ever thinking otherwise. What's even worse is that Indian men have become Serial Rapists. Ultimately, sentimentality may have been what caused Saul to fall, so don't. Vashti would be proud. Idolizing the likes of @ajitpaifcc, @nikkihaley, und @bobbyjindal will certainly bring Moshiach faster to this most Wicked Generation in many unpleasant and deliriously unimaginable circuits possible, so by all means test Him
