MICHAEL FREUND: Ezekiel is commanded by God to take two sticks. On one, he is to write "For Judah," and on the other "For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim." Then comes the crucial instruction: "Bring them together into one stick so that they become one in your hand" (37:17). Ezekiel's vision is not one of uniformity. The two sticks do not cease to be what they are. Judah remains Judah; Joseph remains Joseph. Unity does not erase difference – it sanctifies and elevates it by placing it within a larger shared destiny.

Ketriel Blad: In other words, in order for a total restoration to take place, the restored Ephraimites from among the nations will have to become Jewish, in the legal sense of the word, thus accepting the Jewish authorities and becoming obedient to Jewish halachah. In the prophecy of Ezekiel 37:19 the Hebrew text can be understood as HaShem giving Yehuda's stick the function of being over Ephraim's stick and this way both sticks will become one. This teaches us that the Ephraimite movement that comes from heaven cannot rise apart from the Jewish people without submission to the Jewish leaders' authority. This is not for all the gentiles.

||What do you think of an Asian-Filipino and Turkish marriage?||

Guo Bingdi: More services and facilities customized for Chinese tourists are needed. There aren’t enough professional tour guides in Turkey that can introduce their culture and history fluently and precisely in Chinese. More air flights between the two countries are also very important.

justme7: My cousin met a Turkish guy on line (not in a dating site) they were just chatting away at first and then suddenly the Turkish guy expressed his feelings to my cousin. Well she told him that they have to meet so this Turkish guy came to the US just to meet her but they never had the opportunity because in order to come here, he had to get a working visa. He has been busy like crazy but he calls her everyday. My cousin I guess though she denies it…is falling for him because of his effort to see her. He got into a lot of things because he really wanted to meet my cousin he was almost fired because he kept on telling his boss to go where my cousin lives. He works in another state. the guy even cried on the phone because he was not allowed several times to take a break and meet my cousin (I was eavesdropping coz we share an apartment hahaha). I even talk to him on the phone sometimes, I feel like he is a great guy but I have this fear about Turkish men because of their reputation of being wife beaters etc…
My cousin usually put him on speaker phone sometimes because she multi tasks a lot and there were several occasions when i can hear their conversations. and he is really serious about her. He was talking to her about him working hard so that they can buy a house before they get married and my cousin doesn’t say yes or no, she just laighs. He is not a Muslim so I saw and heard them pray together on the phone. I know I am a very bad person coz i have been eavesdropping. I’ve been observing my cousin coz i was just concerned that she will get hurt.
they even had a conversation (I was with her, i was not eavesdropping that time-maybe she knew that I have been doing it anyways) about each others’ national stereotypes. i heard my cousin asking him about wife beating and he said that he knows about it, he feels shame about that stereotype but he said that he is different. His father or brothers never hurt their wives. And he also asked my cousin about why a lot of Filipino ladies want to sell themselves for money in the internet and in clubs and my cousin explained that it is not all the same. They both have these cultural discussions and then they explain and then they accept each other.
what do ya think? to Asians and Turkish people out there…they will meet this weekend.. do you think it will work out? Is he really that serious? Coz you know I love my cousin but i am afraid that I will be mending her broken heart if something will go wrong. It happened before and I was so behind my work because she is very emotional. thanks. Please do not be rude in your answers.
