“Son of man, take a stick of wood and write on it, 'Belonging to Judah and the Israelites associated with him.' Then take another stick of wood, and write on it, 'Belonging to Joseph (that is, to Ephraim) and all the Israelites associated with him'" (New International Version, Ezekiel 37:16 Multilingual).

Ketriel Blad: In other words, in order for a total restoration to take place, the restored Ephraimites from among the nations will have to become Jewish, in the legal sense of the word, thus accepting the Jewish authorities and becoming obedient to Jewish halachah. In the prophecy of Ezekiel 37:19 the Hebrew text can be understood as HaShem giving Yehuda's stick the function of being over Ephraim's stick and this way both sticks will become one. This teaches us that the Ephraimite movement that comes from heaven cannot rise apart from the Jewish people without submission to the Jewish leaders' authority. This is not for all the gentiles.

This is the first time I've noticed explicit connections between the House of Joseph and Nazirite.

"And having come, He dwelt in a city called Natzrat so that it should be fulfilled that having been spoken through the Prophets that He shall be called a Nazirite" (Matthew 2:23 Multilingual).
Sergei Komarov: By the way, we don't find this anywhere in the Prophets. It's a bit of an exegetical riddle.
Peter Leithart: Jesus' residence in Nazareth was a part of His humiliation. Jesus' fulfillment of the Nazirite institution points in the same direction: As the True Nazirite, the True Separated One, Jesus Christ took up the task set before Him on behalf of His people. Nazareth is a sign of self-denial, of kenosis; so also, the True Nazirite denied Himself the joy that He had had with the Father from eternity, and took on the form of a servant. Jesus Christ was willing to empty Himself of glory, to become a Nazarene, so that He could, as the True Nazirite, prosecute the holy war against Satan. As both Nazarene and Nazirite, He was a Man of Sorrows and acquainted with grief. As both Nazarene and Nazirite, He endured the cross for the joy set before Him, the eschatological feast that He would enter upon the completion of His task, where He could sit to eat and drink among His people.
Jesus lived in Nazareth of Galilee, a place held in contempt by the Jews; this fulfilled Old Testament prophecies about the suffering Messiah; and the suffering Messiah is the consecrated Nazirite who denies Himself until His task is done. Jesus was from Nazareth, and hence was a Nazarene; the fact that He was a Nazarene indicates further that He faithfully carried out His Nazirite vow to deliver His people (cf. Jud. 13:5), though it cost Him His life.

MICHAEL FREUND: Ezekiel is commanded by God to take two sticks. On one, he is to write "For Judah," and on the other "For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim." Then comes the crucial instruction: "Bring them together into one stick so that they become one in your hand" (37:17). Ezekiel's vision is not one of uniformity. The two sticks do not cease to be what they are. Judah remains Judah; Joseph remains Joseph. Unity does not erase difference – it sanctifies and elevates it by placing it within a larger shared destiny.

Eliyahu Safran: My grandfather references the well-known posuk (in Devarim 17:11) where we are told to always and without exception follow the decisions of the beth din (court), even if "you are convinced that they are wrong." Rashi tells us that even if the court seems to be saying that "right is left, and left is right," still we must listen.

From this my grandfather divined the lesson that we are not to stray from what our elders/chachamim teach us. Their word is God's word. We follow the Beth Din because God agrees with the Beth Din. We may not "get it" but in due time the wisdom and truth will become evident.
The last word always belongs to the beth din. God, His Torah and its legitimate interpreters.

MICHEL CHAMBON: In India, numerous Hindu devotees go to Our Lady of Velankanni, where Mary is said to have appeared in the 16th and 17th centuries, to pray and make vows. Concerned with health, family or work issues, they join Catholic pilgrims to seek help from Mary.

ELLA KIPLING: Haley was raised Sikh, but both her children, Nalin and Rena, have been baptised in the Methodist Church.
She married her husband, Michael, in two ceremonies- one Sikh and the other in a Methodist church in Hilton Head, according to the New York Times.
Speaking about her religion, Haley said: "I still find these things to be very private. However, when people question you, you do have to answer them."

Danites exist. Rabbinical Authorities recognize Ethiopian Jews as descendants of Dan. Ephraimites exist. Rabbinical Authorities recognize Bene Ephraim of India as descendants of Ephraim. Danite and Ephraimite exclusion from John's census may mean other things. Some possibilities include being Hidden for a strategic purpose. Crypto Jews embody this historically, as well as Esther, who was commanded by Mordechai to hide her Jewish identity. Perhaps Danites and Ephraimites are not meant to be circumcized aka sealed like their Israeli brothers. Maybe the 144,000 are a Military Battalion, while Dan and Ephraim are Reserves. What if Messiah's seed can be found in a combination of Dan and Ephraim. In any case, it would be pretty bad for an Israeli tribe ~ much less two Israeli tribes ~ to be completely destroyed. The Israeli tribes went to great lengths to preserve Benjamin, for example.

THE MONASTARY OF THE MARSHALL

Serach is a Fort
On top of a Mountainous
City of the Sun

JONAH C. STEINBERG: “I completed the minyan of Israel in Egypt,” Serach declares, in a refreshing use of the traditional term for a stipulated number, when she calls out to David’s military chief of staff, Yoav, according to the rabbinic elaboration of a story in the Second book of Samuel, taking Yoav by surprise as the peace-making “wise woman” of a city in the hill country of Ephraim that he has somewhat wantonly besieged.
he requests as an old man, after his valedictory speech to the people, a town called Timnat-Serach in the hill country of Ephraim. (Joshua 19:50, 24:30) I have not yet found any ancient source that makes a point of this, but if you were Joshua - one of two men to have lived all the way through the Exodus and into the Promised Land - would you not wish to hang out, in your retirement, with someone who had seen it all as well? I picture Joshua and the even older Serach sitting on a hillside in Ephraim, musing together about young people and what’s becoming of the land.

Timnath Serah Written by Joseph C
It weighs heavy on you
Even when you've never spoken before
And when they pass through the distance
Like a radiowave, or a stormcloud
And to see how many rivers snake to their final shake
That drips off like morning dew in the middle of the night
Would I be missed that much?
BINU: I believe God has given each of us an allotment. The schools and churches we attend, the jobs we go to, the gyms or coffee shops we frequent, our homes, our neighborhoods, our cities…it may not look like much at first, but we must remember, God has strategically placed us there. He is saying, "That's yours. That's your allotment, your sphere of influence, your Timnath Serah."
How it feels to migrate from Judea to Ephraim.
MOSHE: It is Joshua that merits in inheriting the city of "Timnat Serach" in the land of Ephraim. "In accordance with the command of the LORD they gave him the city for which he asked, Timnath-serah in the hill country of Ephraim. So he built the city and settled in it. (Joshua 19:50)
Does the name of this city sound familiar to you? Yes, the same name as Serah the daughter of Asher.

LEHON MANULLANG: Thank you India 🎉🎉🎉
From Indonesia. we will be strong together against terrorists,
we will be a strong country. Indonesia will

Neil Asher Silberman, Israel Finkelstein, David Ussishkin, and Baruch Halpern: The Book of Joshua (12:21) specifically mentions the defeat of the king of Megiddo and the allotment of his territory to the tribe of Manasseh;

JACQUELINE SCHAALJE: Beit Shean is mentioned as belonging to the conquered area of the Israelite tribe of Manasseh

NETANYA MUNICIPALITY: thanks to the Lord for giving them {Netan~ya, lot. "gift of God"} the ability to continue the legacy of the 12 tribes who settled in the Land of Israel, and particularly of the half~tribe of Manasseh, which settled in the region.

Stephen Epstein: Some went down the Mekong River into Vietnam, the Philippines, Siam, Thailand and Malaysia, while some of the Israelites moved to Burma and west to India.
